Our support workers primary goal is to empower, educate and provide a comfortable, safe, and nurturing environment with improved outcomes in terms of physical and mental health, functional abilities and more for all people on the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
Supporting First Nations People
Akura Care's team leader Yvie specialises in indigenous support, Yvie is a proud Gubbi Gubbi women from Murri Mob, she has been working in disability for 20 years and has a wealth of knowledge.
Supporting First Nations People on the NDIS scheme requires a culturally sensitive and responsive approach that recognizes and respects their unique cultural and historical experiences, this means ensuring they have access to culturally appropriate services and support. Akura Care works with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community organisations and service providers to develop and deliver services that are tailored to their needs and preferences. By working collaboratively with community and Mob we are able to provide the support they need to live fulfilling and independent lives.
